Get hired on campus Write for The Chronicle, Ormond’s student yearbook, or intern with Ormond’s marketing team, creating content for our socials. You’ll meet new friends, make some cash and build handy skills for your resume.  (Just quietly, a barista gig in the JCR could be a good move too. You’ll get to know pretty much everyone in the College!)
Brush up on work skills with Ormond Next Our short-course program to prepare students for the world of work, Ormond Next teaches real-world skills – from public-speaking to design-thinking and workplace ethics. You’ll take part in pitch competitions, company site visits and interview workshops.
Meet and mingle with alumni Nostrum Futurum means ‘our future’ in Latin. Fancy! It’s also the name of an annual networking dinner where Ormond students rub shoulders with alumni. Nostrum Futurum was the brainchild of some Ormond students back in 2024 and has fast become a College tradition. Dress up, enjoy a delicious dinner and meet leaders across all sorts of fields.
Get yourself a mentor Our 10,000‑strong alumni community is active worldwide, ready to offer advice and opportunities in many professions, from engineering to law, architecture, academia and more. Our networking platform, Ormond Connect, helps us match students with alumni.
Connect with the startup world at Wade Located on the Ormond campus, the Wade Institute for Entrepreneurship offers programs for budding founders and investors. It’s a pathway into Melbourne’s startup ecosystem and it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re dreaming big startup dreams.
