OCA Dinner 2022 Recap

After a three-year hiatus, Master, Lara McKay hosted the 2022 OCA Dinner on Friday 25 November in the Dining Hall, welcoming over 160 alumni back to Ormond College ensuring a highly memorable evening.

Featuring reunion groups from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 00’s and 10’s the Dining Hall was filled with colour and conversation, laughter and singing throughout the evening.

Current student Kayvan Gharbi and friends welcomed guests to Parker Terrace over canapes with their A ‘Capella singing before students Hugo Bernard and Nick Buckley paraded guests into the Dining Hall with their bagpiping.

Simon Thornton (1988), Chair of the OCA Committee, acknowledged all those reunion groups present on the evening and paid a special tribute to some of the members of the 1980’s Men’s Football Premiership team who gathered to reminisce.

With a “Smoko” in the JCR following dinner and dessert, an alumni created playlist inspired by the yearly reunions, and alumni retuning from all over Australia, Ormondians were transported back to their youth.

Thank you to all those who were able to attend, to the catering and service staff as well as the OCA Committee for their ongoing commitment to and support of the College
