Ormond Fellows
Ormond Fellows are leaders, thinkers and creators who share their expertise and experience with our community. They are academics, professionals, artists and advocates who support our students and enrich College life.
About the Fellows
The Ormond Fellows program brings extraordinary people into the heart of College. Fellows are appointed across diverse fields – from academia and the professions to the arts, community leadership and beyond. Their role is to mentor, guide and inspire, helping students see the world through new perspectives and prepare for life after university.
Fellows are not just visitors; they are part of the Ormond community. They share meals in our Dining Hall, lead discussions, give talks, host site visits, and offer advice to students pursuing their studies and careers. Fellows may be scholars, professionals, creatives or community leaders, but they all have one thing in common: a passion for education, mentorship and community.Alongside College Fellows, we also appoint Honorary Fellows (recognised for extraordinary contributions to Ormond or society) and Emeritus Fellows (long-serving Fellows invited to maintain an honorary connection). Together, they form the Ormond Fellows community – a network that adds depth, diversity and inspiration to College life.
At Ormond, Fellows are an integral part of our learning community. They inspire students, share knowledge, and strengthen the bonds between the College and the wider world. In return, they enjoy a rich array of opportunities to connect, collaborate and celebrate as part of Ormond life.
Fellows make a real difference to our community by:
- Mentoring students and offering academic, creative or career guidance
- Sharing expertise and experience with students, staff and alumni
- Facilitating new career and volunteer opportunities
- Running academic intensives, seminars and workshops
- Joining the Senior Common Room (SCR) and College events
- Working closely with bright, ambitious young people
- Access to our heritage grounds, library, art collection and networks
- Becoming part of a dynamic interdisciplinary community
- Taking part in Formal Hall traditions, guest speaker evenings and musical performances
- Celebrating together at the Annual Fellows Dinner
