Heart – Grow Together

The Middle Common Room Commitee (MCRC)Run by graduates, for graduates, the MCRC drives an active calendar of social events, networks and committees. The Committee gives graduates a voice and way to create experiences together. Social eventsWhether casual brunch, movie nights or exploring Melbourne and beyond, it’s a chance to build friendships, try new things and shape the culture of the graduate community.Sport and recreationCompete in intercollegiate sports like soccer or tennis, or join more social options like running club, hiking and ski trips. You’ll also enjoy a Melbourne Uni Sport membership with access to gym facilities, classes and the pool.Ormond Ski ClubOne of the College’s most loved traditions, it gives students and alumni a ski-in lodge at Mt Hotham where you can spend winter days on the slopes and evenings sharing meals around the fire. More than a getaway, it’s a chance to experience the camaraderie, friendships, and community spirit that make Ormond unique.Arts and cultureGraduate life at Ormond includes music, theatre, exhibitions and writing. Mentoring and careersThe Ormond Mentoring Program pairs graduates with alumni working across fields from law and medicine to finance and the arts. Career consults and internship advice give you practical guidance for your next steps.Networking opportunitiesCareer dinners, site visits and informal coffee catch-ups with alumni open doors into industries you’re curious about. These connections often become lasting professional relationships.Wade Institute of EntrepreneurshipLocated on campus, Wade Institute provides programs for aspiring founders and investors, including the Master of Entrepreneurship – offering a direct pathway into Melbourne’s startup ecosystem.Global alumni networkWhen you graduate, you join a global network of more than 10,000 Ormondians. Wherever your career takes you, you’ll find alumni ready to support, connect and collaborate.

Live where it all happens

Private apartment. Shared meals. At Ormond, you’ll have space to study and rest while staying connected to a vibrant community of peers. Whether it’s coffee in your share house, late-night debates in the JCR, or Formal Hall in the Dining Hall, this is where ideas and friendships take off.
Graduate accommodation includes a mix of architect-designed apartments with city views, heritage houses with character, and our purpose-built Graduate Centre. All rooms are fully furnished with a bed, desk, wardrobe, shelves, heating and internet.Meals remain at the heart of College life. Three freshly prepared meals are served daily in the Dining Hall, with the community gathering twice a week for Formal Hall. The JCR café is open for snacks and coffee, and the Quad offers a green, open space for study or downtime. But you also have the space and the facilities to make your own meals. Ormond’s park-like campus sits right beside the University of Melbourne and just minutes from the CBD, giving you easy access to lectures, libraries and all that Melbourne has to offer.
Financial Assistance
With $1.5 million in support offered each year, Ormond is committed to access and equity. Scholarships and bursaries are available based on financial need, academic excellence, leadership potential, and community involvement. Eligible students can receive support ranging from $7,500 to full fee coverage per year.If you think you might be eligible, apply, you've got nothing to lose.

Interested in joining the Ormond graduate community? Applying is straightforward, and you don’t need to wait for a University of Melbourne offer before you begin. In fact, the earlier you apply, the better – it gives you time to prepare documents and schedule your interview.We’re looking for engaged, curious graduates who want to deepen their study, connect across disciplines, and contribute to a diverse, values-driven community.
